There’s a difference between knowing the path
and walking the path. - The Matrix

WHY?

The Enneagram is a spiritual, psychological, and somatic tool to support the transformation of individuals. In recent years, it has been growing in popularity and these nine walking experiences are designed to help people learn, reflect, and grow, through an embodied experience, and walk into their own transformation.

WHAT?

You may think that these nine walking experiences are created, one for each enneagram type. This is not the case.

“A Walk With The Enneagram” is comprised of nine walking experiences, that help introduce and explore a number of important aspects of the Enneagram in an embodied way. Consider these experiences as a sampler-appetizer platter with an invitation to feast on the main course later. These introductory experiences will lead you to explore the literature and your own typology in ever-increasing ways.

Knowing your own type is helpful to dig into these walking experiences more deeply, but it is not necessary.   If you do not know your type, you are encouraged to use these walking experiences as a part of your ongoing exploration of your type.  Let your curiosity lead you.

While it is not necessary to do all nine walks, nor is it necessary to do them in a specific order, these stand-alone walking experiences can be enhanced if you complete all nine,  and in order that they appear.

WHERE?

Wherever you want. Just walk out your front door, or hop in your car and drive to your favourite trail. These reflective walking experiences work in urban, suburban, and rural environments.

WHEN?

Whenever you can. Just 45 minutes is all you need to use most of these reflections well. The longer you can give yourself, the better.

WHO?

You, and whoever you might want to have join you!

  • Use this 32-page resource in your coaching, spiritual direction, and therapy practice with clients.

  • Walk together within the acceptable “social-distance” parameters set in your region.

  • Walk separately, inviting your friends and family members near or far to participate in these reflective walking experiences with you.

  • Take a communal “staff lunch” away from the zoom meetings and out in your neighborhood. Each person can take their own walking lunch, and use one of the reflective walking experiences.

  • Use them for your next faith group or small group gathering. Instead of staring at a screen, go for a walk “together” - it just might lead to some beautiful conversations.
